Originally written by Friedrich-Wilhelm Moller after World War I, The Happy Wanderer is one of Germany's most popular folk songs.

From 1973, here's the Happy Norwegian Myron Floren from the Lawrence Welk Show with his polka version backed up by Bob Smale at the electric piano, Richard Maloof on bass, Johnny Klein on drums and Buddy Merrill on guitar.

  • Great rendition by Myron Floren. I always enjoyed his accordion renditions on the Lawrence Welk show..he did it so effortlessly. And he looked like he was enjoying himself too. Thanks for the memories!

  • I loved Myron Floren; he was a talented musician and a wonderful person; FIVE stars! He is missed by this fan of Lawrence Welk!

  • RIP Myron Floren, you are not forgotten by your many, many fans. May God Bless and thanks for the music.

  • "Our happy Norwegian"

  • When I see this, I get reminded of the "Schmenge brothers" who called themselves "The Happy Wanderers."

    :-)

  • @MrBuc128 Don't forget the VICKS VAPO-RUB!

  • My friend started a polka band (and I got invited to play trumpet in it), and I did not realize that the Lawrence Welk show (my mom mentions it all the time ;) ) did a lot of polka music...a lot that we're playing; so I enjoy all these. :D Thanks for uploading. ^_~

  • Great music indeed! A++++ Thank you for posting this great music! A+++

  • Actually in this clip, Neil Levang is playing lead guitar with an Epiphone Sheraton guitar in a cherry finish. Buddy Merrill is playing rhythm guitar with his blonde Gibson L-5.

  • @Spudinator1122 dude, can i get a little respect please? I'm talking about the keyboardist sitting on the left IN FRONT OF THE KEYBOARD. I assume it's a rhodes of some kind. he pretends to play LH but doesn't, mostly RH. I am a professional musician. mayb watch my channel to see that I play piano?

but I would suggest not insulting ppl you dont know, bud, especially when they do it for a living

  • @InIJah Whatever kind of keyboard? Are you retarded or just a troll? That's called an accordion, and a lot of accordion players are also organ/piano players...
