First launch of my home made sugar rocket. This motor launched as a large bottle rocket.

  • I've learned: use a consistent thickness and weight object (such as a wooden dowel) when making a giant bottle rocket.

  • It left the site, bu it flew out of sight. Sigh.

  • Launched a second one today. Amazing results -- it achieved a minimum 600-700 feet altitude gain. Perfect launch and trajectory as it flew out of site. I'll post video when time permits.

  • "dry compression". Pardon.

  • While it deviated from the expected course, the rocket continued to gain elevation until burn-out (which is not obvious in this video). Total height was probably only 300-400 feet. This is a cry compression, not melted, motor.
