Great to see the different basses side by side playing the same lick. From what I can tell the 70s bass might be closest but it's tuned lower than the other basses so that throws the comparison off a little. Also, if the objective is the Marcus tone, the demo might have been better if you would have chosen to play a Marcus Miller groove.
Other than that, nice job.

Im curious, how do you like your string action set up ?

I just ordered the same bass but the 4 string version. How much do one of those Audere pre-amps cost ?? They sound awesome, better than the FM EQ in my Marcus Miller Jazz !

I am not in any means putting down the SX bass but the Squier Jazz vintage is a lot better for cheaper and even looks better..I have both..

I loved the sound from the 70's Jazz with EMG pups the best

heh AndreDonawa, comparison among those basses! just 1 quick question, i m buying a sx sjb 75 just exactly like yours in the video. Any idea on how to improve to a fat tone? :) TY

@xtunix It's a fairly decent bass, but the electronics are not that good. I would change the pickups and preamp. Also a new set of roundwound strings should get you closer to the marcus miller tone.

Sorry, I meant the SX Jazz Bass. Thanks.

@jim10376 Looks like it's a basic gloss finish.
