Name of Game: Robot Wars (Metal Mayhem)
Console: Gameboy Color
Intro Music: Muse -- Knights of Cydonia

Video review of Robot Wars Metal Mayhem and here are the categories:

ROBOT WORKSHOP:
This is where you can build a robot. Shape, Motor, Gear and Weapons are yours to choose. No real point to it.

TRIALS:

Skittles:
Knock down all the skittles, rather boring as nothing changes.

Sumo:
Yeah, no house robot, just whoever you chose. Weapons aren't disabled either which also sucks.

Slalom:
Here you have to collect the flags (in a way even I find hard to understand) and get to the end.

Gauntlet:
Now this isn't that bad. Just get to the end in the fastest time without getting destroyed.

GRUDGE MATCH:
Why they call it a grudge match, I do not know... It's just a one on one with whoever you wanted. Why it needs to reward you for it is pretty stupid, like it mocks you.

WAR ZONE:
Literally facing robot after robot and the best of two rounds wins and goes on to the next round... I think it's about 8 or 9 battles, maybe more but it is rather boring after two or three battles.

Restore Game lets you continue where you saved and left off.

Options is where you can change the language, sound to on or off, music to on or off and displays the credits.

Now we come to a little section I decided to put here discussing the game...

Robots:
The robots in this game are all from Series 3 of Robot Wars. Could be better if BBC made it better but I guess April 2000 to December 2000 was too soon.

Very poor when it comes to saying and making the weapons for the robots... Behemoth, Crasha Gnasha, Chaos 2 and X-Terminator come to mind.

Anyway the robots are as follows.
Sir Chromalot, Milly-Ann-Bug, Big Cheese, Purple Predator, Panic Attack, X-Terminator, Chaos 2, Behemoth, Diotior, Firestorm, Scutter's Revenge, Crasha Gnasha, Pussycat, Terminal Ferocity, Dundee and Thermidor II (should be named Thermador). This is altogether 16 robots.
Plus the 4 non-playable house robots.
Dead Metal, Sergeant Bash, Sir Killalot and Matilda.
Thus leading to 20 official Robot Wars robots.

Arena:
The arena is nothing like the Robot Wars TV Series, very poor if it is supposed to be the same.

KEY POINTS:

Gameplay:
Nothing spectacular, rather dull...

Sound:
This is actually okay, nothing wrong with it. (Just my sound timing sucks, it's not that bad, honest)

Lastability:
Depends if you still have it in good and working condition.

Playability:
Bored within 10 mins.

Graphics:
For a GBC it's okayish despite poor looking Dead Metal and rather bizarre arena layout.

CONCLUSION:
There are some good points to the game such as having robots that only appear in this game but it is really a let down... Unless you want something to pass the time, avoid playing this otherwise. Worst Robot Wars Game Ever!

  • I really think you should have made it clearer to us what the song at the beginning is called XD Joking :D

  • hahaha! i remember this game! it was so bad but being a robot wars fanatic i didn't care!

  • The makers of the game made a mistake, the robot Thermidor was shown but named it Thermidor II.

  • I remember playing this and saying "What, no Hypno-disc!?"
