Maestro Ricci here gives, as usual, a dazzlingtechnique with full understanding to these Sonatas. I arranged them, so that the time been taken in consideration.
No. 3 "Ballade" being the most popular and was written to Enescu. Enjoy

  • Ricci is a wizard with the violin. Fantastic technique and musicianship. This is also probably the best known Ysaye Sonata. Bravo!!!

  • As you say in your video notes, the technique is superb. Personally, I'm not always convinced about Ricci's interpretations (I'm not a fan of his Mendelssohn and Bruch on Decca) but this is top class, especially the Ballade. Fabulous music.
