VW R20 released in the UK as the Golf R

I just found that you can buy the new VW Golf R or as people have been calling it here the R 20 at the UK Volkswagen site. So it is officially out and let's hope it makes it's way over here soon as it is rumored to be here in the spring. Interestingly the steering wheel is on the right hand side of the car in the interior photo. Could just be a flipped picture. Enjoy!

Arrives at the dealerships this January 2012.

VW dealerships have the brochures in for the Golf R but now they say it wont be in until early 2012. My R 32 will be eight years old so it could be time for an upgrade.

Hard to believe its been that long, and also will have a hard time giving it up, it's been a great fast dependable car with the best exhaust note out there for anything under 100,000. I love my R32. Also they are only shipping it with a manual transmission which I much prefer that over DSG even though its faster its less fun.

Now they are saying the r20 will be available in 2012, hopefully that means September 2011 but not sure. They will only be selling the manual transmission version which I prefer but some may have wanted it with the faster DSG.

It has been confirmed that the Golf R will be here this year but only 1500 and it will not be cheap.

I read an artilce stating it may not come to the states at all....C'mon VW!! But the car is not going to be cheap and it may be too expensive to make it a good seller for VW.

But they only shipped 5000 2004 R32's and they all sold so perhaps they will do the same.....we can only hope.

Just brought my 2004 r32 into the dealership for some work and they said the Golf R most likely will not be here until 2012 so I guess emantabrizi may be right, :( I was hoping it would be here sooner.

It has been reported in many places that it is coming to the states but the scirocco is not. The car can have it's chip reprogrammed to hit 320 horse for only 600.00.

Then it will kick some serious butt!!

the "r" series from volkswagens comes to the us every 4 years. i.e. 2004 r32, 2008 r32, etc...

the r20 is rumored to be here spring 2011 and will sell through 4th quarter 2012, but there isn't enough of a demand for the car and vw america is considering not even bringing the car stateside.
