Lol, one of those were at a campsite on Oahu when I lived there, and I feel off of it and hurt myself really bad.

Havent gotten the chance to check it out, you see, live on maui. :-P We have loads of little hidden gems here too. Loads of old bunkers and military outposts scattered across the island.

It was not used as a snipers point. It was, however, a observation point in the case that an invasion force was headed to hawaii. There are several "hidden" observation points and bunkers all around the state of Hawaii.
