Writing in Slate, liberal commentator Mickey Kaus criticizes the stimulus bill welfare provisions as a "liberal conspiracy to expand the welfare rolls." He laments, "Why use the aid specifically to encourage expansion of welfare? The authors of the stimulus bills pursued a different policy precisely because they wish to overturn welfare reform and increase dependence on government.

To me, the first was understandable and minor issue that was already being resolved.
The second, over $100k in taxes for staffing issues I think.
An embarassment that Obama apologized for. He gets cred for that, better then bush ever did for his failures of choices.
Dont remember the others besides the repub who pulled out.
KO has addressed it all as it has come though.

Interesting new choice of name for Blackwater. Xe is the chemical symbol for Xenon. What does wikipedia have to say about Xenon...
The name comes from xenos, the Greek word for foreigner. Xe recruits foreign nationals as mercenaries. Xenon has 9 stable isotopes and over 40 unstable isotopes and Xe mercenaries seem somewhat unstable. Xenon is a dense gas and Xe mercenaries seem to be rather dense.

1. BO said they would have 48 hours to review the stimulus package... oh he meant 8 hours. why? so speaker of the house pelosi could have a european junket to meet the pope.
2. "With that money I could by a pair of earrings and shoes." Michelle Obama last summer with the $600 rebate under bush... her hubby is now doing $400 for the US. oopsie
3. More cabinet woes... didn't anyone vette these people?

Still, my spin
1) while I dont like Pelosi, The repubs saw over 90% of the bill before the vote, and they had already declared they would vote against it before the 48 hours started
2) I dont get your point with that one. Also, they had enough money that Bushes stimulus would be worthless to them.
Though it wasnt enough to be worth much to most people.
Temp help will always fall far short of fulfilling needs. It can only help as a compliment to other measures

1. That's already been shown to be wrong. The Pelosi trip was diplomatic and she said she would cancel it if the package didn't go through. You can't believe everything Hannity tells you.
