@lovesGenet Kubrick is a master at making the audience unnerved. Look at The Shining: With the twin scene, he prepares you for something to come along. When the twins finally arrive, it's surprising. Their presence is unnerving, and then he plants images of them mutilated, but takes them away before you can get comfortable. This scene doesn't let you sit comfortably. The screams of pain mixed with furies of laughter, and singing, shows the sadistic bliss of the droogs contrasted to, well, RAPE.
