Mike Oldfield is a truly talented musician. This I regard as one of his best ever, and indeed, an all-time great. Top of the class Mike. :)

He also did a version of the Sailor's Hornpipe with the greatest British Prize Loony of his era, Vivian Stanshall. And that was against Keith Moon, Spike Milligan and Graham Chapman, none of whom for various reasons quite matched up.

In December 1975, had they brought out electronic multi-tracking or was it still done using tape?

I must have heard this lovely song about a decade ago at primary school, and almost forgot it until I heard it again in a shop last year. I needed to know what it was called, but didn't find out until today, when I was lucky enough to hear it on TV. I was so happy I literally danced for two minutes while it played.
My thanks go to my SoundHound app, which pointed me to this page. And thank you to Mike Oldfield for turning me into a little kid who is excited about Christmas!
This song makes Xmas for me, always has , always will do, heard it on radio 2 at work today.. As ya get older yeah its not as '' magical '' as when you were young, but this song brings the '' magic '' of xmas to all ages , i aint bothered about getting presents too much now im 22 yrs old all i ask is for this song to be played from december 1st - 25th every year , WITHOUT fail!!
