I read where these owls have been seen farther south in the winter months since the '80's, some as far as the Caribbean. Most of these are females, no one has been able to explain why only females take their 'winter vacation' that far south. ;-)

A beautiful bird. But where was this show? It looks like this arctic owl might be overheating in this heat.

The show was "La Arribada" in Baiona (Galicia).

How hot was it that day? If it's too hot the "buho nival" could overheat and get sick, and no falconer wants to see their birds die prematurely.

I don't remember exactly... but it was in March and here in March it isn't too hot :)
