-Joe's POV-
She thought about it for a moment. "Are you sure I wouldn't be a bother? Oh. What...what about Mat?"
I stopped. That kid would kill me. And he wouldn't let this happen unless he knew the circumstances. "We could call him. Don't worry about it. You get packed and I'll call him, okay?"
She nodded and got up to go to her room. I picked up the phone and dialled Mat's number.
"Hey, sweetie, how's it going?" he answered.
"Heyyyy, Mat. It's Joe," I said.
"Oh. Um...okay? What's up?" he said slowly.
"Okay, just don't talk until I'm done, okay?" I said quickly.
"What did you do to her?"
"Nothing. I swear. Just listen. Um...we were supposed to go out tonight, but I got a call from her saying to come over earlier. So, I did, and she was freaked out. This guy, her ex, Jon, he called her and...well, he said some things...he said he was watching her and it would take more than a restraining order to get rid of him."
"When I get my hands on that-"
I interupted him. "I told you to wait, dude. Chill. So, now, I'm calling you to ask permission for her to stay at my house. Just to get her out of the way for a couple of weeks. It's gated property, and so...I just want to keep her out of harms way while you aren't here."
He sighed. "I don't know, Joe. You...and her..."
"It's nothing like that, I...my whole family lives there, trust me, you don't get much privacy, and even still, those aren't my intentions. I'm just being a good person. She'll get her own room and she doesn't have to pay for anything. And she can go back home when this guy is out of the way."
"Okay, I guess I can live with that. It's better than her getting snatched up by this guy," he said slowly.
"I'll call you later with phone numbers and things like that."
"Okay. Thanks, man. I'm glad you're watching over her."
"No problem. Bye."
I hung up and walked to the door to her room to see her putting things in her gym bag. She looked up and saw me. "Did he kill you?"
"No, he agreed to it. It's fine." She raised her eyebrows and then finished packing her bag. I picked it up and sighed. "Do you need anything else?"
She looked around. "Not anything in here. And I cleared the bathroom....I gotta check the front room."
She went and picked up a few other things, and cut the lights before leading me out the door. I opened the car door for her and put her bag in back. I got in the car and pulled out of the lot.

-Alex's POV-
I looked out the window while Joe drove me to his house. I...was kind of upset. Not because of him, but because I felt bad for getting in the way, and also because Jon was so stupid. It wasn't fair. I was glad that Joe DID step in, though, and I'm even more happy that Mat let him. I breathed a sigh of relief and Joe looked at me. I gave him a smile and he smiled back before focusing on the road again. We pulled up to a gate and Joe said hi to the guy before the gates opened he pulled in and then got out to open the door for me.
"So, I still have to talk to my mom about this, but I'm sure she'll let in. She's a sweetheart like that," he said before letting himself into the door. I didn't see the outside of the house becasue it was so dark, but the inside was amazing. It was so beautiful.
"I'm home," Joe announced as he made his way into the room.
All heads turned to us.
"Alley Cat!" Nick said.
"Hey, where's Mom?" Joe asked.
"In the kitchen," Kevin replied.
He led me to the kitchen, which was also beautiful, to say the least. A beautiful woman that looked a lot like Kevin turned to us.
"Hey, Joseph...and...I'm guessing that you are Alex?"
I nodded and extended my hand. "Hi, Ms. Jonas."
"Mom, I...or, we, need to ask a favor of you." She turned her attention to him. "Well, there's this guy that Al knows, and he's like, well, he kinda scared her a bit, and to be safe, I was thinking that she could stay here for a little while. Her ex is kinda crazy."
Her eyes furrowed. "Did you call the police?"
"Well, we were...kinda hoping that it wouldn't get that far."
She sighed. And thought about it for a minute.
Was she going to say no?
