Margaret Roach walked away from "success" and the rat race to make time for quiet, and the deeper connection to nature she craved. Margaret is the creator of the popular AWaytoGarden.com blog; her new memoir (Feb. 2011) tells her dropout story.
OK, this lady obviously is still making money. A lovely place, that's for sure. I'm sure how peaceful she can be is related to her again managing to be successful. I am guessing she had some savings that she used as padding while she switched careers, plus perhaps an advance on the book. Well, that's great for her.
It's one thing to say to go find peace and leave, but I think more folks are going to have to figure out how to find peace right where they are. Think that book needs writing.
