I would like to point out that Kwartin was a great favorite of Richard Tucker who himself was a great tenor and Cantor besides and at one time was the leading cantor at the Brooklyn Jewish center until he went into opera. I listen to this and understand why Tucker admired him, this us wonderful and in the old tradition, no short cuts like today.

He was married to my father's sister Genia. I did not know him well and had not had the pleasure of hearing him sing
. He was a lovely man whom I remember visiting in his Brooklyn apartment.
