Aside from literally sleeping in feces, these people are dodging rats, flash floods and drug addicts. What's worse, the sewer dwellers are constantly under attack by local "death squads," who fire open rounds and pour gasoline into their underground homes, then set them ablaze.

Lots of accusations are being made without supporting documentation. People live in sewers all over the world. If you claim that a form of genocide is taking place in Columbia, you must back it up with some kind of hard evidence. Vice covers a lot of interesting stuff that nobody else covers but real journalism demands hard evidence. This particular installment is lacking.

If those people hadn't kept the dogs in the sewer with them they probably would have been killed on the streets.
