Lawrence Welk, HAD to hire the BEST of musicians, to play his "CRAP." I thank the good LORD that I was associated for quite a few years, when I performed. What an ABSOLUTE genious. By the way, he is currently, the First (lead), trumpet player on "Dancing With The Stars," on ABC.

Holy cow...what superb playing from young Warren. Note that the rest of the band applauds him at the end. His range is terrific...rich and fat in the lower register, clean and singing in the mid- and upper range...BRILLIANT!

What a swinging, inventive chart of an old Sinatra/Dorsey ballad. Can you imagine a 17 year old playing so magnificently.
These last four additions by tvcollector showcases Welk's jazzy, swinging side.
Not nearly showcased enough on TV for my old ears. Welk proceeded to retain some of the finest musicians in the world when the network revenues began soar. He was a genius at recruitment..it appears.
Crazy for the Pete Fountain big band goodies, too.
