Is Leviticus the most boring book in the Bible? And what is the story behind the term "scapegoat"? More at http://www.bibledex.com/

  • A man who lies with another man should be stoned. It's better, that's all I'm saying.

  • Leviticus chapter 18 is a very interesting/humorous read!

Also 10 chapters on sacrifices/cooking instructions, brilliant!!

  • Why is that one fat (no disrespect) dude trying to knock down the words of the Bible talking about the verse dealing with Gays? Really, it's in the word and unlike some of the other laws in Leviticus it remains the same even in throughout the Gospels and the whole New Testament. God has given Grace on the Earth, but he still recognizes sin and abominations.

  • You forgot to mention that in the verse "love thy neighbor as thyself", the word "neighbors" means "fellow Jew". It does not apply to people around you that are of different faith. That would make the whole 'if someone is prophesizing in a town near you for a different god, destroy the town, kill all of the people and animals' sort of inconsistent. Also, in Israel, pork is perfectly safe. Trichinosis cannot survive in their climate. The diet things were never for safety. That's modern myth

  • @2camjohn wow...

  • @regnarBO Yeah I get all my sacrafice tips from leviticus.

  • Aw I thought it was going to be because the goat "escaped" and was let free. :P

  • Most of the code on animal slaughter was designed to reduce the suffering of the animal as much as possible, when it was discovered that the people would not stop eating flesh. See comment on numbers 11. It was mercy for the fallen humans, and an attempt to cartel the painful slaughter of animals for food. God did not want to to kill the disobedient people, nore did he want his animals to suffer to much at their awful hands.

Nice they let the goat go once a year.

  • It may be boring but is very well important.

    Lev 23.
