The video was taken during the recording of "Neruda" the CD album that Luciana Souza recorded in December 2003.
Here she sings "sonnet 49" accompanied by herself on kalimba.

  • I just posted this video on my FB page. Look, I try and make a point to familiarize my friends with music that is off the beaten path. My attention is not to steal the music, but I wish to promote it. I have this type of relationship with a few folks on You Tube. Many times, I will even write a little something about the artists that I post. Please allow me to embed this again....

  • wikipedia says:

The kalimba is an instrument in the percussion family. It is a modernized version of the African mbira. It is a sound box with metal keys attached to the top to give the different notes. It is also known as the African thumb piano.

  • Que bonito! Tuve la oportunidad de conocer a Luciana en una "clinic" que dicto en la escuela de musica a la que asisti en Los Angeles, y me encanto su musicalidad. En este video se ve su coneccion intima con la musica y la poesia. Felicitaciones Luciana!

Me declaro total admirador de tu arte!

  • Ooh, I like the use of the Kalimba. I have one of those, and I like how she used it for a Neruda poem.

The poem was incredibly beautiful too. Overall good job.
