Here's one of the Best singer I've ever met, Kate Cordaro. She's an Actress and hung out at the Bar in the early years...Talented girl. She took me to my first & only Indigo Girls Concert, told me the difference in each one's voice & Style. Seen a lot of people "make it" from that Bar, but Kate was better than most. By the time this footage is taken, I was a bit "lit" so forgive the Sloppiness...It was always a pleasure doing our "Kate" set of music...We are Joined on this night by Allen Merrill who's actually is "Close to Legend" in Japan, and he wrote Joan Jett's "I Love Rock N Roll"... it's his song, and it was a pleasure when he would perform it with me...It seemed to me that he had extra chords to it, but when I Youtube him these days, it sounds identical to Joan's Version... I remember a few extra chords in there... OK But for now, Listen to the "GREAT KATE" as we used to call her, Doing the GREAT ARETHA !!!

(Back Ground On The Footage)
This footage was taken at O'Flaherty's in the Early years, judging from the length of my hair, guitar & location of the "Performer's Spot". In the later 90's the spot had been moved to the back of the bar near the Pool Table, and the bar was expanded as well. I know it's not the first year 93, but it could any of the others up to 96, because by then I believe the bar had gone through it's expansion. In this spot & with this Ovation Guitar Pete Townsend played a song one night in 1993 for us all, and I played to him & the cast of "Tommy" (Plus Others) many many times. A good friend Bob took this footage, and I'm grateful to him for doing so, it was my Birthday & it just brings back great Great memories of the place in it's early years.
Sincerely

Thanks for the info & more insights to Alan's Career, truly. But I think you misunderstood my "Close to Legend", it's meant as a High Compliment of Alan, and for the American body who doesn't know Of him - except maybe " I Love R n R". I have only the Highest Regard for Alan, and he knows that too. So forgive me if my Dyslexia or words lead you to think anything otherwise. Merrill's AMAZING !!!

A little jealosy, Michael? It's spelled ALAN Merrll, and ("close to legend in Japan"?) he toured Japan 3 times in 2010 and is featured in many books about the Japanese rock scene. Check out his band Voda Collins. Alan has actual chart hits in Japan, England and Europe, and had his own weely TV series with the Arrows. You are lucky and very honored to have performed with him.
By the way, Alan Merrill wrote "Brand New Man" (Freddie Scott) with Don Covay, who wrote Chain Of Fools."
