Here´s the beautiful song "The Rose" written by Amanda McBroom and made famous by Bette Midler in the movie "The Rose" from 1979. I did this arrangement after a request from my girlfriend :)
An open G tuning seemed to work well for the melody line...
Played on my old Alvarez 5220CEQ, which was standing alone and sad in a corner and just happened to be tuned to an open G.

  • sounds awesome the tones on all your videos what gear do you use buddy im trying to work out sounds for my martin so i can put up some video but i wont do it if it sound amatuer

    would appreciat any reply

  • @danogroat Hi and thanks! Use a good condenser mic that can capture the essence of your guitar and playing... I record the guitar with a Rode NT2-A to computer - then I sync that recording to the video in a video editing software.

  • @pinofluvius Just like that?? I have a Rode mic too. If I'd record like that I'd get everything else sorounding me on the recording as well. The tram, breathing, neighbours fighting etc. How do you get it so clean?? Do you make some big adjustments in your sequencer program?

  • @egilaat Well, lucky for me , we now live in our own house, and I have a room that I call "the studio". But breathing can still be a problem. When I lived in an apartment I often had to stop in the middle of recordings because some neighbor took out the power drill...

  • I don't get how to tune the guitar? Is it open G then capo? I feel like an idiot.

  • @Fooballfreak12 No problem :) open G then capo 4th fret
