Well, I agree with the previous comment. It is obvious that the bartender is completely ignorant of Brasilian geography. I am not a Brasileiro, mas sou um americano. Conheço o Brasil e cacahças do Brasil. (I am an American. I know Brasil and cachaças of Brasil. Sagatiba is sold in Brasil and has been for at least 3 years I know this as my ex-namorada (ex-girlfriend) is a Brasileira, more specifically a Paulista. She brought me my first bottle stating that it was the first multi-distilled.
Sorry mate. I am Brazilian from Porto Alegre and I have to say that it is actaully the 6th largest city in Brazil rather than the second. Sao Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Salvador, Fortaleza and Belo Horizonte are bigger than Porto Alegre.
Porto Alegre is one of the nicest cities in Brazil for sure. And I have been to 34 countries.
By the way, they only sell sagatiba abroad, I have never seen it in Brazil.
