The Place of Change:
Lynne and Chris find themselves in The Place of Change. They discover that The Official History of Herbertville, 1st Edition credits the Edwards family as one of the founding families of Herbertville. But Duneedon has circled the name "Edwards" and included a note: "Change this to Eden."
Duneedon then uses his powers to trap Lynne and Chris in the book. They escape when Sam, back in the Coach House, opens to the same page in the 3rd Edition.

Sam informs the others that they can have the second edition of The Herbertville Chronicle published on a real printing press, but only if they finish quickly. Chris submits a second chapter to "The Duneedon Adventure." Lynne offers to provide the first line of a limerick and allow readers to flesh up the rest.

  • @Dulcimerist Yes...that was before The N became a separate network and aired ALL DEGRASSI ALL THE TIME. But even Noggin doesn't have it QUITE right.

  • @MsTexas73 A few years ago, the Noggin network would air classic Sesame Street and Electric Company, but then their budget got large enough that they could afford to air newer stuff. It's too bad that they never expanded to additional classic educational programs.

Classic, high-quality programming doesn't get recycled on TV anymore because there's too much money out there to fund and encourage new junk to be developed. ;)

  • @Dulcimerist Yeah, I agree it is JUNK now. I even remember PBS would air it LATE at night on the weekends even. I'd even take that. I wish I had the $. I'd create a retro channel just for old school educational programming.

  • When I was a kid watching this, I always thought that Otto wasted a lot of paper. It really bothered me about all that waste, too. LOL

  • @MsTexas73 I used to watch this show on PBS all the time as a kid in Iowa in the early '80s. However, today's PBS has so much new junk, they'd never air these classic programs anymore. :(

  • how's that placey-changey thing doin' for ya lol

  • @TheJess519 It is?

  • As an English teacher, I LOVE how this show encouraged kids to learn the intricacies of language and the benefits of using language correctly and effectively. That's so positive and I think it has become very rare in children's entertainment these days. I get entirely too excited and language arts-fangirly when I watch these old episodes!

  • I wish PBS aired this now...I wish it were on DVD or something because my students would LOVE this show.

  • Thanks for putting this up..I loved this show as a kid and no one ever remembers it when I bring it up in conversation.
