@SgtSAWblade Yes. :) Although space ships could hide very easily behind our sun, what we're picking up on our scopes are much larger: planets.
-
@pkscolax Ah cool cheers for that. I learnt something new today :) Do you mean those bursts of white lines and dots etc that appear?
-
@SgtSAWblade Hahaha, nice try. That is one of the planets in our solar system, probably Venus making a return trip. The solar wind distorts the light hitting the cameras and sensors on the SOHO and other satellites monitoring the sun. So the position of the objects moving in the background is questionable, researchers must 'guess' the actual position, indicating range of error with the drawn-in lines you see. :P

YURI is still famous, even if he's not mentioned in this particular video. Anybody who knows about Space Exploration knows about Yuri Gagarin. Even if they forget his name, we all remember the video of him in space. Very cool.

:D space balls

I think that USA did a great job with the moon mission.. but its kinda sad that Yuri didnt get a place in the intro.. LONG LIVE USA AND RUSSIA :)
-
because the sound waves from the rockets are so loud and concussive they have the ability to shatter, shred, and warp parts on the space ship. The water absorbs some of the concussion.
-
Holy crap! At 13:43 there's a friggin space ship FLYING THROUGH THE SUN!!
-
What Gagarin was important. But.. still. USA... Moon Walking... first ones. Of course now with the adnimistration knocking back the budget NASA employees told me that they would either have to get corporate sponsors, or start hitching a ride with RUSSIA. Ironic.
-
Yuri Gagarin only flew up to the upper levels of the earths atmosphere barely reaching into space. The USA WALKED ON THE MOOOON!!! Are you sure you want to stand by your comment or are you just trying to be difficult for the sake of being difficult?
i absolutely LOVE the spacenews opening. =)
