Obviously this docu was made before they found the shallow mass graves with 3000 civilians lain in them, murdered by NVA forces on orders from above. They went around with clipboards with peoples' names on them, taking them out and executing them.

@Hampupu13 Don't make excuses for the Vietnamese Left fascists. They made a mockery not only of democratic principles, but of their own ideology. Since 1998 they and their once-again Khmer Rouge allies have been renting out the labour of Indochina to transnational corporations, all to profit the Communist elite.
And I'm supposed to not give two shits about Vietnam? Well fuck you too.

@johnnyruskie I think there's a big difference between bombing military targets and leading civilians to trenches with their hands tied, then shooting them in the back of the head.
Then again I'm not a pesky Communist varmint, to whom shooting unarmed "class enemies" in the back of the head makes sense. Grr.

@DrCruel Dont glorify the Americans. Agent Orange, torture and rape. You didn't give two shits about Vietnam, it was just about communist-paranoia. And to use your type of allegation, 'this is the sort of thing capitalists are responsible for"

I remember crossing that bridge many times...also have picture of a beautiful church before it was blown up...
An aside - of the thousands killed at Hue, the majority killed were deliberately murdered by Vietnaese Marxists. These were civilians executed by the Marxists for being insufficiently enthusiastic about the Marxist takeover, or simply because they had the wrong vocation and thus belonged to the wrong "class". Massive trenches were filled with the resultant corpses - a method of mass killing not seen since the Nazis.
This is the sort of thing Left-wing activists are responsible for.

America did do something that was terribly wrong - we gave up on the Vietnamese, leaving them to the brutalities of communist thugs. Millions were robbed, abused and murdered in our wake. Many of the native survivors were forced to move elsewhere, having lost everything they owned save for the clothes on their backs.
Soldiers for the UN fought for the freedom and lives of the Indochinese, against Marxists pirates backed by Russian and Chinese thugs. Shame on those who helped the Marxists win.
