Nepal TU, KU must also teach Kiratology which covers ancient history of himalayas nepal and contribution of kiratas on ancient india.

@yomamafool1, do you know why newar follow caste system? because the newar have been the most influenced by the aryan licchavis. Through the "Sanskritization" (heavy influenced by culture and ritual of brahmins), the Kiratis who remained in the Kathmandu valley after the defeat by licchavis formed a new group of people now known as newar. that's why the newar follow caste system. but those kirat who left the valley do not have caste system. the kiratis emphasized on equality.

@yomamafool1 you are absolutely correct. jyapus are the original inhabitants of the valley and they have always been identified to be Kirati by scholars, historian and anthropologist.

Other Newars having migrated to the valley in the later period tends to look down on jyapus as farmers and socially backward people. The jyapus behavior closely resembles rais, limbus because of their quick aggressiveness and consumption of alcohol is part and parcel of their society like other Kiratis.

@diliprai you know what jyapu newars are from kriati descendants. the most popular jyapu groups are manandhar, maharjan, dongol. that's why jyapu in newari society are discriminated and classified them as lower newars. indo aryan newars mostly falls on group like shrestha and pradhan
