Not all photo presented were of the Fitz. Other ships photos were used in order to dramatize how severe the weather can be and how dangerous it really is.

  • you should have gorden lightfoot singin

  • why would twenty three people dislike this.

  • @MrDerogative

It bears the name "Edmund Fitzgerald" Directly on the side. The ship had a unique way of turning. She would pivot, not so much "turn". The stern would turn on a relatively small radius, the bow would swing outwards.

  • My folks took us up the the family cabin on the shores of Lake Superior and in the span of a half hour it went from a flat surface to a raging S.O.B. and we have a boat dock with a water thermometer attached to it and it read literally 14 degrees--Mid July! The winds on Superior were howling all night long. Every where else was suffering from a heat wave but here we were at the smaller family cabin on Lake Superior freezing our asses off in late July early August.

  • Fantastic video, was the song by Steve Roach and Robert Rich?

  • very touching, I get God smacked when I see things like this, that the power of the seas and they're unmerciful waves. You have to have respect for whats out there. There's an old saying....you have to go out but you don't have to come back. Thumbs up! for Gordon Lightfoot as well, Huh, that's cool that we are from the same town in GA.

  • @MrDerogative The Fitzgerald was a "conventional straight decker" It was and probably still is the most common build of freighter on the Great Lakes. Most ships now have self unloading boom attached to the stern other than that the design is is almost identical to alot of freighters still active on the lakes

  • To thoughs who dislike the video, shame on you. You have absolutely no respect for the dead who didnt survive on the great lakes and have no respect for these dangerous waters. I hope all those haters rot on the bottom of the great lakes.

  • sad sad year... nice imagery. Good job. And to those who said "no wonder it sank"... it's a ore boat... They all look like that.

  • music sounds scary
