After four years of treatment for acute lymphoblastic leukemia, including a stem cell transplant, young Charlie is happy and healthy. Here, his parents and brothers reflect on how Charlie's cancer treatment affected the family. Read the rest of Charlie's story: http://www.dana-farber.org/CharliesStory

When Charlie began receiving care for acute lymphoblastic leukemia at Dana-Farber/Children's Hospital Cancer Center at age 4, his mother, Caroline, sent email updates to her family and friends. After a brief remission, Charlie's cancer came back, and he returned for more treatment, including a stem cell transplant. Caroline's reflections grew into a touching chronicle of four years in the life of a child with cancer.
