Here are a few things you should check if your cook top element isn't heating:

Find out whether your stove has internal fuses (0:23)

Examine the element itself, it is the most common cause of a malfunctioning cook top (0:40)

If the body of your element appears undamaged, check the terminals for arcing or corrosion (1:04)
