I asume you havent seen the movie, as you would realise that your referance to Asperger Syndrome simply being "dysfunctional" is ridiculously shallow, and that the relationship between them isnt disturbing in anyway and is actually quite amazing.
It displays how people from opposite sides of the world and of completely differant ages can still relate, perhaps you'd need to disregard your previous perception of the inability for two such people to have a relationship if you were to ever see it.
