I adore Zooey Deshanel and Mark Wahlberg and just KNEW that this movie couldn't be so bad with them in it. Then I watched it, and it made me want to throw myself at their feet and BEG them to tell me- "WHY?"
(my friends and I were prepared for a thriller and laughed hysterically throughout.)

@Miracle490d The regulation of phototropism by the horomone Auxin:
Auxin is generated on the dark side of the stem more than the light, where it causes cell elongation which in turn makes the stem grow unevenly. that is it. that doesn't sound like an actual active response to stimuli.

When i saw the trailer for the happening, i was like "this movie is gonna be the bomb-diggity." What was this fool thinking?! oh sure, plants all over the world can communicate with each other and miraculously generate one HUMAN SPECIFIC neurotoxin in thousands of different species all in 200 years of evolutionary time. my five year old sister saw through the holes in his logic! duh plants don't have a brain to "target" anyone! that's just fucking sad!
