Date With Destiny- Giants Super Bowl Preview (WCBS-Sizzle Reel)

Date with Destiny was a one hour special previewing the New York Giants Super Bowl XLII encounter with the undefeated New England Patriots. The show was broadcast live and emanated from our New York Studio at the CBS Broadcast Center and two separate live locations in Phoenix. WCBS Sports director Ducis Rodgers anchored the broadcast from the Giants team hotel, John Discepolo was in front of the stadium, and Sam Ryan was in New York. Joining Ducis Rodgers was Chris "Mad Dog" Russo from WFAN radio and Giants Super Bowl Champion George Martin. Joining John Discepolo was Craig Carton from WFAN radio and WCBS feature reporter, Hazel Sanchez. Sam Ryan was joined by former Giants Super Bowl Champions Stephen Baker and Karl Nelson. The live one-hour special contained a one-on-one with Giants head coach Tom Coughlin, Giants Defensive End Osi Umenyiora interviewing fellow Giants teammate Justin Tuck, and inside Super Bowl XXI and XXV stories from Karl Nelson and Stephen Baker and much more. The Giants historic upset of the undefeated New England Patriots ranks as one of the most thrilling Super Bowls of all time and its biggest upset. The foundation for the upset was prophetically laid out in Date with Destiny.
