Would be nice if next time you make a video don't do it on a day with Gail force winds, that way we can hear everything you say and not the odd word. !!

Im buying a Mauser M98 1937 30-06 in a few days :)
It has the swastika and eagle ingraved. Gonna look nice to my collection..
And for target practice/hunting..!

Rework the barrel metal? Haha.
It would take a completely different barrel. 8mm Mauser uses a larger bullet than the .30-06.
-
@disturbedone5009 its simple you rework the barrels metal and then give it new rifleing to fit the new cartridge

@gidzsi hey there, alot of countrys converted there mausers to 30-06 after the fall of german and or there 8x57 stocks dryed up and surp 30-06 was cheep. same reason alot of them were converted to 30-06 or 8mm06 over in the USA after WWII
-
could you have picked a windier day to try to group shots?
-
Seriously, how can people try and tell what caliber your rifle is. You just filmed yourself putting factory .30-06 rounds into the rifle. I dont think there is any question as to what caliber it is. Nice rifle.

@mephistosminion Cool video, don't mind the wanks being critical.
-
I was just looking at one of these yesterday

You can get a barrel through a custom shop
Douglas barrels. I hope that helps you
Good luck
This rifle caliber is 7.93x67 not 30-06!!

@gidzsi Uhh, no, its a 30-06. It was ORIGINALLY 7.92x57mm (8mm Mauser), and I have explained why, and how, it was converted to 30-06 in the comment thread. Get your facts straight before commenting dude.

Oh sorry mate, I thought when I made the video for people who are generally interested in firearms I'd include as much info as I knew about the rifle. Sorry if I bored you.

How can you fit the .30-06 cartridge in a receiver made for 7.92 Mauser? Wouldn't it be too long?
disturbedone5009 2 years ago
There is a small oval cut in the back of the reciever to allow for the longer round. I had a photo somewhere but its lost in the depths of the internet.
