@crusher153 - hi, yeah, definitely. In some sense much of the seventies were like a gorgeous mountain range, with hills, valleys and gorgeous rising performances jutting up all over the place... Then the drugs became a problem in the 80s, the peaks still there just not quite the same... I think they all got a bit burned out, esp Jerry. He really aged from 1979 to 1983...

@chasefukuoka61 i have to agree with you on the whole peaking in 77 thing. you listen to the concerts from this time and they sound awesome. i think they peaked in 71 (with pigpen) too. listen to the hollywood palladium august 6th. every track is on the money.

@sunshinenblues Donna was with the band during the greatest period of the Dead. She and Kieth were huge additions to the group and they would not have been as great as they were without Donna or Kieth.

@sunshinenblues - Check out the music I've uploaded from 1977, she adds some really nice harmonies on quite a few songs. Not much more to say, imo, the music speaks for itself.
