Manuel Contreras was a builder of the Madrid school, who at one point worked for Ramirez -- prior to that, Contreras was a cabinet maker and some say, a bull fighter! He introduced his double-top design in the early 1970s.
This '85 Contreras double-top is a remarkable sounding guitar. It has extremely strong lower-mids and and powerful projection. The sustain is exceptional as well, and the entire guitar is full and warm yet wonderfully articulate as well. A very fine example of a Contreras double-top!
