@ambris Yeah. Ice brought rap mainstream, but no one gives him credit for it.
-
@SuperMageo He re-recorded it in 2005. Its on his Platinum Underground record.
-
@lunanoir69 Well you're in luck, because he's made several albums of such music.
-
Dude has talent thats for sure
-
he should re-record this version

Without Vanilla Ice there would of been no Eminem. He brought rap and hip hop to the mainstream. He made it cool for a white man to rap.

In context, Vanilla's pretty successful, he's kept his music career alive so far, his albums may not chart but they still sell, he does home improvement and real estate flipping to increase his income, and he has a good family life despite the many hardships he'd gone through with his wife. And people have forgiven him for his kooky 90's image. Good for Vanilla Ice.

I'm 27 yrs old but I can still name the first 4 rap songs I ever heard - 1. Can't Touch This 2. Ice Ice Baby 3. Fresh Prince of Bel Air 4. Baby Got Back! The thing I've always loved about this song is "Word to your mother" when I was in H.S. when our B-Ball team was in the regional champ. game when the other team would shoot a free throw our side would get quiet & when the guy got ready to shoot I'd yell word to your mother! 9/10's they'd miss-TRY IT! He's like who's talking about my mom!

Wow I actually like this version better than the album version of the song. I remember when I got this album as a kid I thought that that I was the shit. I love it I think mainly because my mother hated it. I think he was an ok rapper the song itself is nothing fantastic as far as rap goes but it is fun. I even have it on itunes now. This video was fun and probably would have been way more fun to have been there in person. He actually gets off stage and into the crow which I really liked.
