thanks. more out of ignorance, juliebork. i'm so tomcat fixated that when an intruder fanatic requested an intruder-only vid years ago (originally posted under an account killed by YT), i slapped this together without getting straight on how different the prowler is. knew it was a different plane, despite heritage, but it looked so intruder-like i included it. shouldn't have, though most people appear to not mind overmuch. too lazy to re-edit.

Hey!!! That's my old squadron VA-196 the Main Battery, 1971-1975 @CVAN-65, although this video was after. Note how the A6 even fully loaded flies off the pointy end, no dip below the flight deck before climbing, the horizontal stabilizer at down 6 (tears rolling down my cheek). You could always tell the pilot's from the B/N's walking to/from a plane. The pilot's right side of his helmet was always knicked up and the B/N's the left. From beating each other with a flashlight in the cockpit.

oldgeezer68, this was the last cruise of VA-196, which was the reason for their flyby at the start of part 1. far as i know, this video is of the last time VA-196 jets left the boat. part 2 is basically the fly-off. nov '96, headed from pearl to san diego.

tonpilot, you just nailed one of my biggest peeves with most aviation vids. a good montage music vid's nice now and then, but WTF. if we had smell-o-vision, some of these fools would add pepperoni pizza to replace JP5. unsat.
