Proposition 8 and Christian bigotry (How religion takes away people's rights)

Matt gives no props to two ballot propositions which passed in the 2008 presidential election. These include California Proposition 8, which outlaws gay marriage in the state, and a proposition in Arkansas which bans adoptions to the unmarried, thereby targeting gays and lesbians.

Just heard this morning I heard on the radio that non-Canadian gays who married in Canada (like columnist Dan Savage + partner) are officially NOT married in the eyes of the country. Obviously, a Canuck marriage doesn't hold water in any state that doesn't recognize gay marriage, but it's news that Americans (and others) can't visit Canada and enjoy any legal status for their wedding either.

@shieldsff Also, what happened to separation of Church and state? Why does the government have to impose christian views on others even though the state should be secular. It's quite stupid and do the existence of homosexuals torture christians, rednecks and other imbeciles, did they do something incredible and cruelly wrong to you by being gay? I don't think so, so why do these people suggest they are being so horrifically wronged by 2 men in love or 2 women. Just mind your business

@shieldsff Just cause "christians" think that being homosexual is wrong and not according to the Bible, that's just so sad of humanity, it's just one huge leap backwards with regards to peace, future, equality. Does it even sound morally, rationally and logically correct to strip a certain people of their basic freedoms and rights because they are different, because they ended up liking the same sex? It's really disheartening to see that people just can't accept differences
