  • Hey Dave, why doesn't GB do more 5th AF fighter squadron patches? Thankfully our guys in the PTO destroyed the Emperor's air capabilities with one hand tied behind their backs. I demand that you produce a jacket to honor the 80th Fighter Squadron... the Headhunters! Thank you for keeping this history alive.

  • @etramway You are right, the 80th FS did a great job in the Pacific. One of its 'Aces' is a close friend. I wish we could pay tribute to it and many other well known and not-so-well-known squadrons. Hopefully in the future we could get back to expanding the WW II squadron patches. Thanks for the kind words. Blue Skies, Dave

  • I want to order this jacket but I am having a bit of hesitation (and might order Mk. 31 instead). Problem is, as a Japanese I find the bloodchit calligraphy on the back too amateurish, too obvious it wasn't copied by someone who write Chinese characters.... not to mention the Kuomintang flag. I would order this jacket in a flash if you can redesign the bloodchit.

  • Hi Nordlys1966, You are right, there were many variants of the script on the leather chits as these were hand written and not mass produced or silk screened; we copied this from one of a choice of a few originals (some were terrible) acquired from a museum. You can always buy the jacket and add your patches to it. Thanks for kind words on the MK 31. Cheers, Dave

  • Hi sdkaufman, glad you like the info. Regarding the color, unless the production company is supplied by one of the established repro makers who follow the colors more closely, they end up with an 'A-2' and usually they are a real dark brown, verging on black-brown. I agree with you on that. Regards, Dave

  • As a new jacket, you do not need to do anything to it, the leather is already treated. In time, I suggest using Pecards Leather Dressing. It is odorless, greaseless, and gives the leather a nice look when following application directions.

Best advice is just wear it and don't baby it; that's when it comes to life.

  • Polyester, cotton lining is not correct for ww2. If Im going to spend 700.00 bucks on a jacket, I would buy an Eastman. They cost a few hundred dollors more, but are worth it .

  • I have one from this company, just like the video, cost well over 700.00 wore it 6 times, size 44 ...comes with the company hanger with logo, wait till you wear it,,, offers..?

  • shti coler wtf

  • hi,,have just purchased this jacket @ dont understand why it is so pigmented,,its too plastic looking @ feeling,,will this wear off in time @ surely trying to treat it with pecards wont work as it wont be able to penetrate the surface coating,,a well made jacket ruined by poor hides

  • Enjoy the info! One question -

How come on some movies and TV shows the A-2s almost look black?

Even the Seal Brown does not look black to me but yet on tv and media accounts they look black

Maybe my eyes are playing tricks on me.

    Thanks!!!
