I love his comments about regular schools. The age-grade system is total fail.

Russell Means is true man! True men will cry! Let it out, Russell, let it out! My friends are Lakota, i've lived with the Lakota for about 2-3 weeks on the Pine Ridge and Rosebud Reservation in South Dakota, i speak Lakota! I'm in love with them and i have an extended family who are Navajo. May the great spirit protect all native nations!

Russel Means is a great man speaks of only the truth.

I am white but my kids are part lakota, their great grandfather was Cheif
Swift Bear, I lived on the Rosebud reservation for several years. My parents looked down on me for this- they were upperclass and did not understand why I wanted to live in poverty. I have seen both ways of life and can tell you that the Lakota people were genuine and real- they are truely a part of the earth- not an alien species seeking to consume and exploit natural resources. I weep for what my ancestors have done.

Russell speaks with a lot of pain in his heart.

I think that people of almost every nation committed crimes against humanity during history, only numbers were different. I ask everyone here, what is a tolerable number? 10, 100? 1000? 10000? 100000? 1000000? I say there´s no difference! 1 person killed is 1 too much, no matter of which belief, nation, or "race". SINCE WW2, there were more than 150 armed conflicts all over the world (some of them still going on!). It seems, as if mankind still have not learned their lessons.

Every tribe should start a total immersion school. Like Russ said, if we lose language, we lose the rest of our culture. If we lose culture, we just become another skin color, and a dying one at that.

Imagine communities with no jobs, no economic development,no effective police force, no grocery stores, no parks for children, no majors, no city council and rampant crime and drugs. This is reality for native families on the navajo reservation in New Mexico, Arizona, Utah and Colorado.

Imagine communities with no effective police force, no grocery stores, no parks for childern, no jobs, no economic development, no mayor, no city council, no water in homes, no electricity. This is reality for native american families on the navajo reservation in New Mexico, Utah, Colorado and Arizona. Many young navajo's have to leave the reservation to find a job. Crime and drugs are rampant on all reservations. The Truth.
He actually made me cry with him. =( I'm not Native American, but what he says is hearbreaking; the US is built on the blood of courageous and admirable people =(.

More people need to see this, it's so true it breaks my heart. I'm only part native but my mom used to live on a reserve in Canada, and it's not much different here. I've talked to kids on the reserve recently and their elders are letting them forget their heritage. Everyone needs to step up before this kind and respectful way of life is lost, humans need it and our planet needs it.
