From what I can tell is that they have only removated the old Divarty unit buildings on the main part of campus for the students. It's funny it looks is if you are actually in the building that I lived in from the roof top view. Plus I am pretty sure that the third floor in that building is haunted, you are brave to go in there.

I was stationed there from '86-'89 and lived in those Discom barracks and cooked in the what looks like destroyed mess hall. It seems as if all my hard there was for nothing and to be forgotten now. I wish there was some way for the school to keep at least one of these buildings up.

I miss this place, I grew up there as a child when my dad was in the Army. It was a beautiful base........Went to Elementary school there and was a Mustang, they could've closed shittier bases like Fort Sam Houston. Sad to see the place so forgotten.

My father went to basic Training at Fort Ord....then on to Ft Bragg and 82nd ABN. The 7th Inf. of Ft Ord saw alot of action in Korea, was a driving force in many of the battles.Sda to see it tossed aside with little to no fanfare..

If that was room 313 across from the missle shop (the Big wood biuildings on 4 th street i was station with hhc 707th bn from 83-sept 84 and in 84 i was Repair & Utilites specalist . I Blame the STUPID U.S.C. Monterey Bay for the Damage done to those building including the DISCOM mess hall that was built in 1984 and now that building is damaged beyond repair . Same with the Bowling Center STUPID U.S.C.Monterey Bay

I live across the street from those barracks now at the dorms at CSU Monterey Bay. Finally got the courage to walk inside and explore around in those barracks a few weeks ago. It was very interesting. Kinda creepy too. I didn't know you could get to the roof.
I think the place IS haunted. Pretty spooky in there.

dizpin: CSUMB has renovated a number of the buildings that they use for student housing. A lot of the buildings are still in bad shape though.

Looks like the old 707th BN Barracks. I was stationed there from 1984 to 1987. Sad as those building where only 5 years old when I was living there!

Seaside is my hometown and back in the 80's I could hear a lot of weapons being fired and my grandfather, who was stationed there as well, showing me around out there. It's hard to drive through now and see everything boarded up. Funny how time hasn't been kind to Fort Ord.
