http://FWHIhelicopters.com When I first started teaching in helicopters one of the "Old Timers" taught me something that has been a great use to this day! I vividly remember him telling me to look at the numbers on the runway as my landing spot! He said that you always want it to look like you are approaching those numbers at the same speed!

I have never forgotten what he showed me that day! There is no exact speed at so many feet, just the fact that if you start at 60kts, you are gradually going to slow to 55, then 50, then 45 and so on. This is how you make it appear that you are always approaching your spot at the same speed even though you are slowing down the entire time!
