Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl has rarely spoken publicly about the death of his friend and Nirvana bandmate Kurt Cobain. But 17 years on, he says it is time to "acknowledge everything that's happened".

  • Jesus Christ people. No, the only person who abused Kurt is Courtney Love and she still does! There is nothing cryptic about his scoliosis or stomach issues and no one needs to analyze the shit out of this or criticize Dave because of it. His friend was killed. It's too obvious that things were mishandled, they were already going to break up and he was about to leave her. Shit does not add up but besides that he doesn't owe us shit & I respect him for what he says in the end. What a nightmare.

  • I think she is behind his death. Weather she pushed him to a breaking point or set things up to fool people into thinking he did it, Courtney Love is guilty.

Thank you Krist and Dave for respecting Kurt's privacy and for not selling his personal belongings away. I wish you both & Frances had all the rights to Nirvana in order to protect & appreciate Kurt. I know you'd NEVER make Kurt's PRIVATE journals or personal letters public & you sure as hell wouldn't sell him out to Guitar Hero.

    Sick..

  • Truthfully, I do think he cares way more than it seems & I think that he might be keeping those feelings & thoughts locked in an effort to give Kurt of the highest form of respect, his privacy. I also think we've all been spoon fed information that Courtney wants us to believe but the truth is much different. He doesn't want to give attention to the situation, agree or disagree about the facts or exploit his friend any more than he's already being exploited or give Courtney any ammunition.

  • Dave is 100% right and I really respect him for being real about not going public with his thoughts on the situation. Unlike Courtney Love who exploits the shit out of him and takes every chance she gets to tarnish Kurt's reputation, Krist and Dave have been respectful and sensitive about it. Dave has never been comfortable about the circumstances of Kurt's death and neither have a lot of people. There's just too many unsettling things surrounding his death.

  • Dave and Krist are honorable people. I wish I could have seen Kurt's reaction to various things that have gone on though the years or what he would be like almost 20 years later. I respect Dave & Krist for keeping certain things to themselves & for not exploiting Kurt or selling his personal things. That being said I also think that it would have been fairly easy to frame a drug user with a history of depression for suicide and I honestly question weather he was killed or not. Thanks for posting!

  • This shows Dave's genuine love for a friend. Good for him for standing up for his personal feelings. There are things that should be kept private, and this is one. He doesn't need to talk about it if he doesn't want to and everyone should back off and just leave it be. No matter what happened between them, you can tell he still deeply cares and misses his friend. RIP Kurt. A true legend.

  • I always thought of kurt as a womanizer, behind the scenes, but i was surprised that he had only 3 gf's in his whole life, and his depression and life reminds me so much of mine because he is the only person in the world i could relate to, and the only person who showed that they have flaws and are not invincible as the media portrays them to be. God i miss him

  • @Jess20042010 Yeah, I think I agree with you.
