Twice Kenya National Rally champion Carl 'flash' Tundo is the overnight safari rally leader after grabbing the lead from Zimbabwean Conrad Rautenbach on day two. The tough terrain in and around Kajiado claimed some of Kenya's top drivers including current champion Alastair Cavanaugh, 2008 champion Baldev Chager and renowned navigator Azar Anwar. Two-wheel drive champion Leonardo Varese also went out of the rally on a day that saw a total of 16 Kenyans retire from the world's toughest rally.
