There must be a whole heap of videos about Castle Combe, but this one is just part of an exercise organised by the Chippenham Movie and Video Club. It will certainly cover the same ground as many of the visitors but the difference this time is that it was shot after most of the tourists had gone home and that left just the locals, a couple of cyclists and us! And yes, the beer in the Stag is great!

  • A Master Class in how it should be done Rob, a superb record of this beautiful village that I have visited several times over the years, and if I remember correctly wasn't the row of cottages down by the river featured in the Doctor Doolittle Film?...Delightful to watch and a 10/10 from me .....Bob

  • @robmasterman Thanks for your compliments Bob. They're much appreciated. There were five other club members videoing like mad. Can't wait to see what they made of the visit!

  • Gorgeous village just 3 miles away from me, one of the most fabulous places I know.

Anyhow long time no speak Bob, if you can renember who I am!

  • @friesiancowboy Thanks for your comments - much appreciated. PS. Never did get rid of that camera!!

  • I've driven through it a couple of times but never had the opportunity to get out and wander. Thanks for that, Rob.

  • @balmesh Take a few minutes next time and have a walk around! It's worth it even though during the day there are often hordes of visitors around!

  • @Bevoin1970 Thanks for you comment. There are several villages like this around where I live. Dead lucky I guess. This one often gets overrun by TV and Film location folk! Easy to see why.

  • What a fabulous looking place, stunning. :-)
