does she lack of acting? no. just listen her singing. all imploring, sadness are in the voice. that's acting in opera i think ! Damrau or netrebko's overacting which make their singing unstable isn't proper acting for opera(or at least the best acting). singing first. opera isn't musical.

Are you serious? That was wonderful. Sumi's voice was warmer than usual, and the the high F was fantastic. Sometimes when Dessay gets up there it can get a little screechy, but this F was clear.

An "F" is an "F" is an "F." If it comes out is what really matters. The bad thing is when it does not. A good F is almost by chance.
-
@sumimimi0 I noticed that too! :)

her acting isn't great, but her voice really is wonderful
-
.. she is the only one of the three ppl to sing the queen of night aria perfectl
-
Why is everyone going on and on about that high F? She sings with such grace in this aria and her lament over her daughter in the middle section is gorgeous!
-
ok, so it wasn't the best 'f' she ever sang. She's still in my top 3 interpreters of this role

great!

Sumi Jo is great! But the title of the video is wrong, it's called: "O zittre nicht mein lieber Sohn", zittrinicht means nothin!
Why don't you try it then?
