This is a test of Champions 2000 Watt Inverter Generator running a 1500 Watt space heater.
Conclusion - at 6200 feet the 80cc engine is not strong enough to run a 1550 watt load, the engine almost stalls then trips the breaker. Champion has told me that at this altitude I should expect 1400-1450 watts running capacity.
Unit was purchased at Sams Club for $489, less than half of a Honda eu2000i.
I was at SAM'S today and picked up the display model for $225. I couldn't be happier. Of course, I haven't tried to start it yet so, who knows?

Great honest video of the champion. I have two Honda EU2000i models. I live at an elevation of 6,500 in the mountains. Above 5,000 feet, any generator is going to have deminished performance. In fact, any internal combustion engine will run poorly. Fuel injection, turbines, etc all help at altitude. However, my single honda runs my 1500w heater during winter months in my cabin. But it cost a fortune compared to champions. Lower altitudes, champs are fine!

My local Sam's has one for $399.81. Only one left. It'll most likely be gone by the time I get there since it's about a 40 mile ride. :-(
