I used the M580 for a number of weeks. Initially it is just a point and shoot camera with an average features set. With its price point ($150 CDN), it is not a bad deal given that it has 1/2.3" large sensor, and 8X zoom starting at 28mm. Its slim body allows easy tuck in inside a jean pocket without worrying damaging its LCD, lens or button. Then I also found its beauiful HD video with super clean image.
Its video is even better than some other pocket camcorders ie Sony pm1, Sanyo pd2. Sony lost the
background details completely as it cannot handle low-light. Note the dark background in this video has absolutely no creeping noise, very good. The only limitation is its zoom ring is fixed during recording, only digital zoom. You work around by zooming into the subject before starting recording. For a pocket camcorder, go for kodak M580 or kodak Zi8 or Zx3. They all are equally good in video quality.

  • @FLCLFAN098 Yes you can. You can cut the clips at the end or beginning but that is it.

  • I got this off h s n for 129 plus a 40$ rebate and a ton of other goodies! Wish it came with a camera case but that is my only complaint! It's a great camera!

  • @FLCLFAN098 I dont think so

  • Can you edit with that camera
