I know of about two hobbyists that have bred them using a series of tanks, and it has been done in a lab. I know many more crabbers that have had crabs in a large tank for 5-8 years, and their crabs will mate and fertilize eggs, but they have no way to save the eggs because of the expense of setting up the proper saltwater tanks.
