This is the trailer for "Guitar Right-Hand Physics: From Rest and Free Strokes to Perfect Tremolo", a classical guitar instruction video in Masakazu Ito's Technique Series. In Volume I, Masa focuses strongly on right-hand classical guitar technique; the goal is to improve musicality, to obtain and maintain proficiency.

The class includes 40 minutes of instruction dedicated to executing superior rest and free strokes, carefully examining the physics involved, identifying hazardous technique, and reproaching misleading advice, especially regarding tremolo. Masa features Tárrega's famous composition "Recuerdos de la Alhambra" as a basis for his discussion on tremolo.

Masakazu Ito is recognized as one of today's top guitarists, acclaimed by musicians, composers, conductors and critics for his mastery of the instrument and its repertoire. Ito is an international performer, teacher, composer and recording artist. He currently holds a teaching position at the University of Denver's Lamont School of Music, where he received a master's degree under the guidance of Ricardo Iznaola.

  • What is the name of the song in the beginning?? :)

  • Thanks for your comment. The music is an original composition by Masakazu Ito, "Memories of the Wind", from his Intimate Guitar CD.

  • what is that incline strip on his guitar by his arm?

  • Thanks for your question. It is an armrest. A feature growing in popularity, armrests offer extra comfort, stability and provide additional protection for the soundboard's finish.

  • i am from buenos aires, argentina, how can i order that dvd and the other from Masakasu technique?

  • Thanks for your interest in Masa's videography series. Please visit his website for more information and to place an order. His web address is masakazuito com. You can find Masa's website using Google to search for his full name, Masakazu Ito.

  • Nice Smallman.

  • Sickening in the best way possible.

I think I found me a new goal...

  • Jezus, that Smallman looks gorgeous!

  • Thnk you for the great instruction

whats the name of the faster paced song at the beginning ?

  • the right-hand fingering is here,of course essential. But as for example "allemande" by Bach,i have a book where pima is clearly written out for each note,i follow that a bit, then i go by feeling, not even aware of what fingers i use.Does it really have to be as strict and organized as in the book?

  • Here,of course, the right hand fingering is important. But as forother pieces, like "allemande" by Bach, some have written out pima for each note,i only follow that by half, then i go by feeling and don´t even think about what right-hand fingers i use.

  • i find this practise very hard but yet i would like to learn it.how would you suggest to practise, for example;each day an half an a hour to get the rythm.

  • Excelent :)

  • @SonataSystems Also it keeps the arm from muting the vibration of the top of the guitar....
