This video shows the endless possibilities of using 3D Graphics. You have great ideas and you want others to see what you are thinking. What better way to show your builder or contractor exactly what you want.
From interior to exterior, I can take your thoughts and transform them into a visual for others to see.

  • Hello, Awesome houses!!... but i was wondering how you got them to look so real... I have the trial software for x3 but my furniture still looks really cartoonish and fake. Any recommendations would be appreciated : ]

  • @devindolce

These were done in X2. Very few have had good results with X3. I use Thea Render for my renderings now and it's so much faster and gives great results.

Your models (symbols) have a lot to do with what your final render will look like as well. Chief's symbols are low poly which is good for a quick render but not so good for a realistic look.

You might want to download a free demo of Thea Render or use Kerykythea (it's totally free). You will get much better results.

Sorry it took me so long to answer. First you need better models of furniture than what Chief has to offer. You can find a lot of nice models in Google's 3D Warehouse. Also, X3 has a different built in rendering software than it had before. It's very difficult to get a good raytrace so I now use Thea Render. You can see some of my renders at 3d-diva.com. Some pics were done with Kerkythea (free rendering software) and the recent pics were done in Thea Render.

  • Hi Patricia,

I would like to know if you used the Pov Ray to render your images, or if if you does the rendering with another software ? Please could you also about what graphic card you've used ?

  • @Down23Official

For these renders, I was using Chief Architect x2 and used the built in software "PovRay". I currently use an external software (Thea Render) for my renderings.

  • hi there, thanks for your video.chief architect effects are photo realistic with not doubt, but after i watched the tour of the software online,i noticed that they have many updated furniture & other features, but everything is click & drag,it does not support custom workshop if i really want to design a completely different furniture,(not just modify) is that true?please advice, thanks

  • You can create many things in Chief Architect including furniture however it has it's limitations. I wouldn't try to design a sofa due to the rounded edges. Another option to making furniture is Sketchup.

Why don't you download the trial version and see what it does.

  • I like the soundtrack. Who's the artist and what's the song name?

  • @devindolce Longer render times. Rendering can take ages though on slow rigs.

  • Fantastic job!!!

    Thanks for sharing.

  • @devindolce i dont know wheter you still are having issues, but the rendering on chief architect is set to basic hence the basic blobs and polygons your seing to change this Edit -> Preferences -> Render -> check all boxes and raise software edge smoothing (to higher levels according to your computers ability as it can slow it down signifigantly)
